We have rewritten the front page of this website so many times. We have use words like “Meeting your Charity Auction Needs” and “Look no further – we are that benefit auction company that you have been looking for.” But like so many people, we are tired of the shmoozey, cheezy PR and advertising lines that are thrown at us every day. We are simply going to tell you about our company and how we assist non-profits and organisations with their auction events.

Auction Horizon is run by Jason and Tarryn Troutman. We are one of many charity/benefit auctioneering companies out there. One of the things that make us different is that we do an auction show as a husband and wife team. We consider ourselves to be auctiotainers – we host auctions while entertaining people. We love each other, we love people, we love auctioneering and what do we get to do for a living? Stand on stage, joke with each other and the crowd, talk a lot (and really fast); and help raise money for those in need.

Another aspect that makes us different from most benefit auctioneers (please check this for yourself) is that we also supply auction items that can be used in conjunction with your donated auction items. These items are provided at no cost to the client (i.e. no financial risk involved). We set up and break down our items and provide our own bid sheets and easels. The opening bids on items are worked out by taking our cost and adding a percentage on for the client (the exact percentage depends on what other services we are being used for in addition to our items but minimum is 10%). Any amount above the opening bid goes directly to the client. There really is no worry or fuss for you. Using our auction items simply provides an additional means of raising money.

There are a number of companies out there that provide consignment items. We are different to many of these (and once again please check this out for yourself) as we are first and foremost professional auctioneers that provide a full spectrum of auction services and products. Our auction item range is sourced from a number of suppliers across the country and internationally. We pre-select the items based on your guest profile, ensuring that your auction is not the exact same as the auction down the road the week before. We have some really cool stuff – travel packages, music memorabilia (signed guitars, photos, collages), sports stuff, movie and entertainment memorabilia, fine art, funky modern prints, jewelry and other items of special interest.

We have also built up relationships with a number of suppliers that specialise in online auctions, cellphone bidding and other types of auction technology. If are interested in taking your event in this direction, we will be able to assist you.

To summarise, Auction Horizon is a full service charity auctioneering company that can provide you with a number of services and products. One thing that we are not is magicians. We cannot promise you more money than you raised at your last event, we cannot tell you that we are one of those companies that has found the recipe that defies the current economic circumstances. Times are hard for everybody. People are cutting spending and non-profits are suffering. What we can say is that we are passionate about this industry; we give our very best on stage to create a great experience for your guests; we provide an additional means of raising funds by supplying what we consider to be great auction items (hopefully you will too); and we can take some of the stress off you by running your registration, clerking and check out. Best of all, we are nice people who enjoy what we do, work hard and laugh a lot.
